Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We've enjoyed another great year of our life on Earth and thank you for your thoughts and prayer to help it happen. Bernice and I continue to manage our health issues with the help of our fine doctors and pharmaceuticals – drugs! Members of our large family are all doing exceptionally well and for that we are thankful.

Our children, Bentley & Sharon and Cameron & Michelle — none of whom are 'children' anymore — are all doing well.

We lost a few friends and members of our extended family to death and express our condolences (again) and wish each Eternal Rest in Peace.

We are thankful for friends who remain in our company, some for over two decades. That be Ronnie, Connie & Huc, Sam & Carol, Rob, Bill & Lena, Don & Marg, Irene, Don, Dan, Tom, and Suzanne. Jay Hardt died December 7th this year but will be going to heaven.

Bernice and I still get out for our walks but not to the extent we once did. The years are slowing us down combined with some health issues. I'm 84 and Bern is over eighty so change is to be expected. We can deal with it. Aging is simply a case of mind over matter; if you don't mind it doesn't matter.

Our highlights for 2021 include:

Bentley & Sharon sold their home in View Royal and are moving to a condo near Oak Bay Marina.

Amos is now a full-fledged journeyman carpenter building lots of houses for hardworking families.

Liam started his own business as a UVic graduate, using his business acumen to organize communities toward creating opportunities.

Emma and Sheldon are still doing fine.

I've cycled over 2500km on my ebike since its purchase Tuesday, June 18, 2019. None of it was off-island due to Covid but I did a Saanich Peninsula, 71km ride one day. Lots of rides to Langford maintaining singe-track trails which are cleared using a plethora of battery-powered tools; hedge-trimmer, weed-whacker, brush-cutters, reciprocating saw and even chainsaws. You want some bush whacked who ya guna call?

Besides clearing trials, I've taken up making improvements for walkers during the rainy season by laying down modified pallets over the wet, trail sections. Modified, to the extent the FREE, wooden, shipping pallets are cut into three sections in my newly established workshop. For this I use Ryobi tools from Home Depot to cut and strengthen them. Lotsa fun!

It would be nice to report more of Bernice's activities but — there aren't any. She does her short, 300m walk a few days a week at Selkirk Waters' section along the Galloping Goose Trail and that's about it.

I still play my guitar five-days-a-week and fly my drone every month-or-so. I have over 7000, public photos at Flickr.com and 470 YouTube Videos so it would be fair to say there's no flies on this old boy.
